Saucony Endorphin Pro 4: Detailed Review

Hummingbird’s Bridger Thiessan tried and tested Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 review.

We recently had the chance to review the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 at Forerunners North shore, and let me tell you, Saucony does not hang about. Regardless of Saucony being among the god-tier level of running shoe brands, it is not something to shy away from. Maybe you're looking for something a little more race-focused? If so, the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 will tick some boxes.

The Specs:

The Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 is designed for runners who demand both comfort and performance. Here are the key specifications:

  • Cushion: Balanced plush

  • Stability: Some stability

  • Heel-to-Toe Drop (mm): 8 mm

  • Stack Height: 39 mm (heel), 31 mm (toe)

  • Upper: Built-in knit tongue

  • Midsole: Full-length carbon plate

  • Weight: 7.4 ounces (210 grams)

The fit on foot

One of the standout features of the Endorphin Pro 4 is its fit. The built-in knit tongue is something I’m a huge fan of. It ensures a snug and comfortable fit, hugging the ankle perfectly. If you need a shoe with good support, the Pro 4 delivers.

The shoe’s wider fit compared to the previous model (Pro 3) addresses complaints about a narrow heel cup and toe box, providing a more comfortable and secure fit.

Pro’s

  • Versatile for All Types of Runs: Ideal for both racing and long-distance runs.

  • Well-Balanced Cushioning: Provides balanced plush cushioning for comfort and support.

  • Exceptional Comfort: The wider design and built-in knit tongue provide a snug, comfortable fit.

  • Breathable Construction: Designed to keep your feet cool and comfortable.

  • Responsive Ride: The full-length carbon plate delivers a snappy and responsive feel.

Con’s

  • Fit for Narrow Feet: While the wider fit is a pro for many, runners with narrow feet might find it less ideal.

Verdict

Overall, the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 is a fantastic choice for runners looking for a high-performance shoe with excellent support and a responsive feel.

Who is it for? If you're considering your first carbon-plated racing shoe, the Endorphin Pro 4 is an excellent choice with a very accessible ride. It offers impressive stability, outstanding cushioning, and is more affordable than many top-tier super shoes on the market.

If you’re in the market for a new pair of running shoes, don’t forget to ask questions and check out any other shoes they have in store. See you at Run Club!
