2025 season goal: Improve my swim and a top 10 finish at the 70.3 World Championships
Maia du Toit grew up watching her dad race triathlons but had little experience in biking or running—until 2022, when she decided to jump into training. Just a year later, she was on the start line of her first 70.3 and hasn’t looked back since. Now, she’s chasing a top-10 age group finish at the 70.3 World Championships.
Her motto? “Don’t think too hard—just jump in and have fun!” A powerhouse on the bike, she’s working to improve her swim to close the gap on race day. Competing in events like 70.3 St. George and T100 Vancouver, Maia also loves mountain biking, trail running, and snowboarding—always embracing the adventure that endurance sports bring.
Top placements
2024 Ironman Canada 70.3: 6th overall, 3rd Age Group
2024 Ironman Victoria 70.3: 11th Overall, 4th Age Group
2024 Ironman Oregon 70.3: 10th Overall, 2nd Age Group

Advice for beginner triathletes:
“Don’t overthink it—just jump in and have fun! Triathlon can feel overwhelming at first, but the best way to start is simply to start. You don’t need the perfect gear, training plan, or experience to get going.”
