Trent Thorpe started as a competitive swimmer but always had a strong running background. Through New Zealand’s talent transfer program, he made the switch to triathlon at 18 and never looked back. Now, he’s chasing podiums at the 70.3 distance, aiming to be a key competitor shaping the race dynamics at 70.3 Worlds.
His mantra? “Consistency is king!” He believes that showing up, even with limited time, is the key to steady improvement. With a packed race schedule, including Geelong, Port Mac, and 70.3 Worlds in Spain, he’s fully committed to the sport. Outside of triathlon, Trent is an avid chess player, a political science student at the University of Waikato, and an outdoor enthusiast who loves everything from the beach to the Alps.
